You don’t need fancy clothes or expensive jewelry to look fabulous but a small “disaster” is close to happen if you don’t follow some simple common sense suggestions, when pairing jewelry to your clothes.
Matches to avoid
- Be careful with what kind of textile material you are wearing, for example with wool blouses, you have all the chances that your jewelry gets stuck.
- If you are not quite the top model, it’s better not to wear jewelry that makes you heavier, like graphics on clothes and big stones.
- Materials like velvet matched with heavy jewelry and big stones might make you look less glamorous and more like a jewelry box.
- Think and tight necklaces like chokers, and elaborated collars don’t quite match.
How to wear
Necklaces
Close to the neck, the necklaces go very well with a round revealing cleavage. Their go very well with a corset and discreet earrings.
Tight necklaces and chokers are long out of fashion. Necklaces with pendants that arrive to the bust line are much more preferred.
Long and thin necklaces are great with simple clothes and their legerity fit with fluid textiles like cotton and bamboo or other light blouses.
Ethnic jewelry
Ethnic jewelry are often made by unfinished metals and stones. In order to outline them it’s best to fit them to light soft colors like beige, white or brown. Avoid associating wood jewelry with printed item because they might become unnoticed.
Bangle bracelets
They make the wrist look thinner. For one blouse with large sleeves we recommend simple metal bracelets and for a tight blouse we recommend just one larger bracelet.
Earrings
Long and thin, stiletto, go very well with a long neck and a V cleavage. If the earrings are long and elaborate, it’s a good idea not to burden the area with a heavy necklace, you can also not put one at all.
