Holidays represent one of the best days of the year, especially Christmas, which is my personal favorite. It’s the perfect mix of melancholy, fuss, lights and crazy family reunions. At the same time they can make some considerable holes in our pockets. This related to jewelry and choosing the right jewelry for presents, parties and more, gave us a little thinking to do.

The jewelry drawer revival

If you need it a cool piece of jewelry, how about looking first in that long forgotten jewelry box, for sure you’ll find some really nice pieces that you didn’t even think of or remembered. Should the jewelry crisis extend, let’s not disregard external sources. How about your best friend’s jewelry, I’m sure she also has plenty, or how about your mother’s or even grandmother’s jewelry, since vintage is the newest trend. Give it a try, you’ll find surprising resources.

If your going to an ’80 theme party for sure you have something ready for that, along some spandex suit and big hair-piece.

Take advantage of jewelry discounts

This year more than ever it seems like the offers are bombing you from all direction. If you need to make a jewelry present, there are offers and discounts everywhere. And it’s not like you have to spend your whole salary for one present, unless it’s for an engagement ring (quite understandable and … congratulations!). Browse a little the Internet for the best offers, see what you like and how much you are willing to spend. It’s fairly easy.

Do-it-yourself jewelry

If you are more of an artistically inclined, not lazy or too busy person, you can try to make that present even more special, do it yourself. Besides the cute personalized design, the other will appreciate your total involvement. It might not be the pretties thing but at least it’s from you. You can find several sites that guide you through the process. You can also reuse some old jewelry parts to make a whole new piece. Enjoy making it!
