Rubber bands by Silly Bandz are made of silicon and are die molded into fun shapes: Harry the Catterpillar; Igor the Spider; Betty Jo the Butterfly and more. My personal favorite is Speedy the Snail!
They look and behave like normal (albeit colorful) rubber bands when stretched. But when removed from whatever they are holding, they instantly spring back into their original shapes! Flick them at your co-workers, use them for wrapping presents or horde them all for yourself. What a great gift for students or parties.

Nice colorful design and quite trendy for young girls. The price should be more cheaper than normal metal jewelry like tungsten and gold . As you said great for gift during occasion and for the upcoming christmas.

What a fun way to use rubber!
I need to have some of these around my studio.
They are much more exciting than the old fashioned newspaper style rubber bands that I have now.

A friend of mine recently had her 28th birthday party at a local pizza place in the style of how all our childhood parties were at pizza parlors. Among other fun toys from our youth that were on hand were these silly bands which none of us had seen before. We laughed trying to guess what some of the shapes were and it was interesting to me that they captured our attention for well over an hour while we talked about other random topics. We always seemed to go back to these bands and playing with them.

haha those are great! Brings me back to my childhood, but we only had black colours back then. Those would go off with the tween market.

As we look for new items every day, this category is definitely a strong one. Having trouble incorporating the concept into evil eye jewelry but if someone has an idea, please pass it on

Great blog you have! About the silly bands, I bumped into them at a nearby superstore few days ago and truly had no idea what should I do with them. Now I know what to do with them, haha!
