I love swarovski and I find that as diamond as so expensive the designs tend to be fairly classic and simple but will swarovksi I can get the same sparkle for less and be adventurous with the styles of jewellery. Also Swarovski branded items tend to be a bit expensive as well sometimes so after much searching for accessories to go with a party dress I came across this on amazon for a fraction of the price!

IMHO Swarovski should not be compared to diamonds or diamond simulant fine jewellery. Swarovski is very high end costume jewellery, even their sales people will tell you the same. However, properly looked after Swarovski can last your life time. Swarovski cyrstals have more than 30% of lead which gives it that very brilliant shine. Where as more inferior crystals does not have that much lead.

Diamonds...well....they are the ultimate girls best friend, is it not ;)

As for diamond simulants, these should not be compared to cubic zirconias. Diamond simulants are far better quality, but also harder than Swarovski crystals, but softer than natural diamonds. They are the cheaper alternative to diamonds.....

As for which one you should choose I believe it all depends on the look that you want. If you want instant glamour but still classy bling, Swarovski is it....even the price tag of Swarovski can be high depending on the complexity of the pieces. Diamonds...well if I have limitless amount of money I will definitely choose natural diamonds. I will wear diamond simulants or Swarovski jewellery for occasions, but I did definitely wanted natural diamond engagement and wedding rings.

Hope this helps!

I find Swarovski crystals brilliantly beautiful but they can never take the place of diamonds. When I first came across these elegant gems, I thought that they would make a good material for fashion jewelries, having that sparkling look of a diamond stone. But of course, someone who knows how a real diamond sparkles and looks like would know the difference up-front. But nevertheless, I still appreciate the beauty that they possess although I personally choose to splurge only on top quality jewels that I can pass on to my great-great-great grandchildren as a legacy.:)
