His-Ju Chang assisted by Yu-Lei Chu, have come up with a very tempting design. A necklace made of edible nutritious balls encapsulated. Smart, eh?

The designer proposes this as a solution to hunger, by using the surplus of the world. The food necklace contains these nutritious balls made from the food surplus of the areas of the world with a high consumption. The extra food is dried our and concentrated in the small balls, that can later be consumed in water, milk or soup and that basically contain vegetables and fruits. They can also be alternatives for unhealthy snacks that we everyday eat.

This concept really impressed me due to the fact that it’s more or less a “humanitarian” jewelry, it’s selfless and makes us conscious of the food crisis and of the importance of preserving resources and avoiding waste and excess.
